Jones-Emberson 1, also known as the Headphone Nebula, is a 14th magnitude planetary nebula in the constellation Lynx at a distance of 1600 light years. It is a larger planetary with low surface brightness. This image was entered into the TOTM (target of the month) contest with SkywatcherUSA.
This image was taken March 12th. This image consists of a total of 11hrs and 50min of exposure. This is made up of the following individual frames:
Red 30 x 120s
Green 30 x 120s
Blue 30 x 120s
Sii 45 x 300s
Ha 44 x 300s
Oiii 44 x 300s
The RGB frames were only used to capture the Stars and then integrated into the final image. The main image is created using the SHO pallet as used by the HST (Hubble Space Telescope.
I took the images from my backyard observatory using an Astro-Tech AT130EDT telescope with a focal length 910mm. I used the ZWO ASI 294MM Pro camera and Baader LRGB filters. All process using PixInsight.
