Messier 94 (also known as NGC 4736, Cat's Eye Galaxy, Crocodile Eye Galaxy, or Croc's Eye Galaxy[7][8]) is a spiral galaxy in the mid-northern constellation Canes Venatici It is an approximate distance of 16 million light years from Earth and about 45,000 light years across.
This image was taken March 12th. This image consists of a total of 11hrs and 50min of exposure. This is made up of the following individual frames:
Lum 24 x 120s
Red 30 x 120s
Green 33 x 120s
Blue 32 x 120s
This is a total of 3hrs and 58min of exposure.
I am not happy with this image. It needed more exposure time but the weather didn't cooperate. I may try again next season.
I took the images from my backyard observatory using an Astro-Tech AT130EDT telescope with a focal length 910mm. I used the ZWO ASI 294MM Pro camera and Baader LRGB filters. All process using PixInsight.
